Is Mediation Free? With Legal Aid funding many mediation services are free.

This shows your proof of attendance for adding to a Court application if you wish to make one, and is valid for 4 months. If you qualify for Legal Aid funding, you will not be charged for this.
These sessions include all parties and provide a safe space for discussions. Regardless of the type of mediation, for as long as you qualify for Legal Aid funding, all meetings will be at no cost to you. The person you are inviting to mediate will also receive limited funding via your eligibility.
Any agreements or summaries provided following your joint meeting(s) will be provided free of charge whilst you are eligible for Legal Aid.
We charge an hourly rate for all meeting types. All prices are per person per hour. All prices include VAT.

If you plan on making a court application, you will normally need to prove that you have attended a MIAM. The proof is usually referred to as a MIAM Certificate.
Certificates can only be issued if you have attended a MIAM with our mediators within the last 4 months.

Child inclusive mediation involves a trained mediator meeting with children during their parents' separation, giving them a safe space to share their views. With the child's permission, the mediator relays these to the parents to help them make informed, sensitive decisions. This process respects children's rights to express themselves and can be more effective than children communicating directly with parents.
You may qualify for the Ministry of Justice family mediation voucher scheme, which provides up to £500 to cover joint mediation expenses (ie joint meetings and/or CIM). This initiative is not means tested and encourages individuals to explore resolving their disputes outside of court. (The Voucher is not available for finances only mediation). A document that clearly articulates the arrangements made during mediation. This document can then be used to make into a Financial Order or separation agreement.
